Dissonant Creatures works with venues to provide the best sound possible for audiences by setting standards and planning requirements for audio equipment and setup.

Mics can all be regular instrument mics – Shure SM 57 or comparable (this includes the Vox mic, which is just for shout-outs – we are otherwise an all instrumental band). Venue should supply cords of sufficient length for the mics and DI boxes. AKDC will provide all cords from instrument to amps or DI boxes. We do not need phantom power for any of our instruments. Mic stands are listed below.

We will need power strips / multi-plugs across back of stage for at least 10 inputs (this will be for up to 5 amplifiers and 5 effect units).

We will need three monitors, stage left, stage right, and a drum monitor (as shown on Stage Plot).

If venue is providing a drum set: we would need a five-piece set of good quality, e.g. Yamaha, Tama, Pearl, or Gretsch. Drummer will provide cymbals.

If venue is providing bass guitar amps, we would need TWO (one for bass and one for cello): either a good quality combo or good quality amp and speaker, e.g. Ampeg or Mark Bass.

If venue is providing guitar amps, we would need TWO of good quality: e.g. Fender, Marshall or Vox.

We will need a regular size armless chair for the clarinet – a folding chair is fine.
