OCTOBER, 2026 "EAST BY MIDWEST TOUR"
AKDC on second multi-state state tour, performing in Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Aaron Kerr's Dissonant Creatures (AKDC) will be on tour this year in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The seven piece fusion group will be playing music from Aaron's four albums of cross-genre styles.
According to Aaron Kerr, "On the heels of some shows this year in Minnesota I'm very excited to be headed east, so I'm calling this our 'East by Midwest' tour. The places we are playing are going to be fantastic. Our kickoff show will be at the Eagles Club in Minneapolis and it is totally a fun scene. That show is followed by a stop in Milwaukee at Sugar Maple. Our show at Mirriman's will be a beautiful intimate show. Ottawa is a thriving arts community with a huge stage. We played the Firehouse for the last jazz festival there and it was insane - one of our best shows ever.
I especially want to connect with the audiences this tour. We had some amazing moments last year in the western states. We got to know the communities and have been invited back for summer shows and festivals. It's this connection that makes it fun for the band. We get to hang out with some awesome people and make art happen."
Aaron Kerr (electric cello) is the band leader, conductor, composer and arranger for the ensemble. A performer for over forty years, Aaron has played on more than fifty albums, both nationally and internationally, and was included on NPR's Science Friday program. Aaron received a McKnight Composer Fellowship in 2006. His 2019 release, To Combat Loneliness: Musical Compositions Based on the Works of David Foster Wallace, was nominated for Concept Album of the year at the 2020 Independent Music Awards.
Aaron Kerr's Dissonant Creatures' lineup includes Brett Hansen (guitar), Jonathan Townsend (drums), Chris Andresen (bass), Mike Nordby (mandolin and percussion), Jeff Crandall (guitar and piano), and Sean Egan (clarinet and piano.)
